Head of Security Operations
Job Introduction
At HMP Addiewell, we run the full prison operations which ranges from residential officers and other operational staff across the jail, integrated Facilities Management, rehabilitation services, resettlement programmes, education and skills development, vocational training, workshops and industries.
Sodexo operate a number of prisons across the UK that rehabilitate those in our care, providing purposeful activity, employment, education, and support. We help prisoners to lead law-abiding lives in their community on release.
Under the guidance and vision of a new passionate Director HMP Addiewell is facing into a new exciting chapter whilst ensuring that we meet Sodexo’s high standards and those of our client; Scottish Prison Service.
As we build our operational team to help lead and take the prison forward we are now seeking to fill the post of Head of Security and Operations. The ideal candidate will have exceptional operational experience at a senior level, have gained extensive knowledge of prison operations within the UK (working for or with HMPPS or SPS) and be ready to transform our delivery to maintain a safe and secure establishment.
The successful candidate will have direct line management of a large and diverse security, operations and intelligence team so the proven ability to effectively lead a diverse group of individuals with exceptional skills is crucial.
Fundamental to this role is the ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders both inside and outside the prison walls: collaboration with a range of departments is essential in order to ensure that critical information is shared accurately and acted upon in a timely and diligent manner.
You will be someone that leads by example, demonstrating Sodexo’s Managerial Behaviours and will be pivotal supporting the day to day running of the prison undertaking duty manager roles as necessary.
This role will suit someone that has passion, drive and the ability to see and plan for the long term strategic aims of the senior leadership team and prison overall.

Circa £60,000
