Dublin 7 - Full time
Are you a Skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician with an electrical overview? Are you skilled in HVAC and CAFM? If so, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your technical knowledge and further your career within a growing PPP / PFI contract at the new Grangegorman campus for TU Dublin.
You will operate across the contract with regard to planned and reactive maintenance in regards heating boilers, pumps, compressed air systems, sanitary ware and other equipment found in modern commercial/industrial premises, ensuring high levels of compliance and health & safety.
This position will suit a multi-skilled professional who also has an overview of electrical engineering and is a practical thinker with good attention to detail.
Please note, you will be required to undertake the role within a weekly rotating early/late shift system and be prepared to assume on call responsibilities.
Essential for the role:
- Air conditioning/HVAC tradesperson .A time served air conditioning or HVAC technician with 2-3 years post apprenticeship experience
- City & Guilds Level 2 Award in F-Gas Regulation, 2079 or a FETAC Level 5 Specific Purpose Certificate in Handling F-Gas Refrigerants 5S0108
- Knowledge and previous experience of BMS systems, TREND is desirable
- Knowledge and experience in the maintenance and repair of Split AC, VRV systems, Fan Coil units, Air Handling systems, boilers, and pumping systems
As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician you'll:
- Carry out and oversee the day to day operation which includes planned maintenance, fault finding and repair, periodic inspections and testing of the complete spectrum of services found in a building services environment
- Undertake inspection and reactive activity wide range of Electrical Building Services equipment including but not limited to general lighting, building controls, smalls power and distribution, BMS systems and other equipment found in modern commercial/industrial premises
- Ensure that corrective maintenance and reactive works are carried out within the priority timescales
- Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with legislation, codes of practice, manufacturer’s recommendations, HSE recommendations and meets prescribed standards in the contract
- Take direction and receipt of planned or reactive workloads from the Hard Services Manager and via the use of IT Systems as part of the CAFM system.
What we're looking for:
Essential
- Demonstrable experience as an Engineer in a similar role
- HND, NVQ, QQI or equivalent in the relevant subject (Mechanical Trade Qualification)
- IOSH Qualification, CSCS Card and/or Safe Pass or equivalent
- Experience of working with a CAFM system
- Experience of working within a Building Maintenance organisation
- Ability to Multi-task across electrical and building disciplines at a basic level
- Good organisational skills with the ability to organise others
- Analyse and provide technical advice and solutions
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Prioritise workload and working under own initiative with minimal supervision
Desirable
- Previous appointment as AP/CP for one or more of the following disciplines:
- Boilers
- Pressure Systems
- Confined Spaces
- Working at Heights
