Job Description
Join a leading facilities management provider at the forefront of Hard FM service delivery. We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Fabric Engineer for our site at HMRC Manchester, M3 5DS to play a key role in ensuring operational excellence, statutory compliance, and outstanding customer service across a dynamic cluster of sites.
Reporting directly to the Hard FM Supervisor, you’ll be an integral part of our Technical Services team. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality planned and reactive maintenance across a range of building fabric and M&E services. You’ll also be key in liaising with contractors, managing compliance, and supporting our zero-harm culture.
What you’ll do:
Technical Delivery:
Perform planned and reactive maintenance across fabric, electrical, and mechanical systems including pumps, boilers, HVAC, lighting, BMS, and more.
Maintain statutory and contractual compliance documentation using CAFM systems (e.g., Maximo).
Support technical audits and ensure timely completion of remedial works.
Deliver small projects and billable works in collaboration with the Projects team.
Provide Digi Hub updates and escalate issues when necessary.
Contribute to Safe Systems of Work (SSoW), training, and continuous improvement.
Operational & Compliance Support:
Participate in out-of-hours support and emergency call-out rota.
Maintain a high standard of hygiene, safety, and environmental compliance (incl. COSHH, Risk Assessments).
Ensure systems operate efficiently and escalate faults appropriately.
Facilitate subcontractor access and monitor performance.
Stakeholder & Teamwork:
Build positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues.
Represent Sodexo professionally across HMRC and customer sites.
Be a proactive member of the team with flexibility to travel and adjust to the needs of multiple sites.
What you bring:
HND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in building services and plant engineering.
Strong understanding of technical systems, compliance standards, and CAFM tools.
Business-level fluency in written and spoken English.
Full, clean UK driving licence (travel across cluster required).
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and within a team.
Desirable (but not essential):
Previous experience with Maximo/EZMax CAFM systems.
AP/CP appointment in Electrical, Boilers, Confined Spaces, or Working at Heights.
Familiarity with CDM Regulations.
Property maintenance experience.
