We are looking for an energetic and passionate Fitness Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on maintaining high gym standards, delivering high-quality fitness classes, and actively engaging with members to create a motivating and inclusive gym environment. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on inspiring others, upholding cleanliness and safety standards, and ensuring an exceptional gym experience for all members.
As a Fitness Instructor with Sodexo, you'll enhance the services of our vibrant corporate site, offering a helping hand to ensure flawless facilities operations and keep things running smoothly.
What you'll do:
- Ensure the gym floor is clean, organised, and equipment is properly maintained.
Monitor and enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe workout environment. - Ensure that all Health and Safety legislation, policies and procedures are met.
Report any equipment issues or hazards promptly to management.
Promote and uphold gym etiquette among members. - To ensure all equipment and services are properly maintained.
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective group fitness classes tailored to a variety of fitness levels.
- Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and modifications to meet individual needs.
- Stay up to date with fitness trends and incorporate innovative training methods.
- Motivate and challenge members to help them reach their fitness goals.
- To be responsible for the facility on a day-to-day basis – providing inductions and one to one sessions as required with the members.
- To make sure all members are correctly screened, inducted and that suitable fitness programmes are issued and regularly reviewed and updated.
- Promote and assist in facilitating sports groups sections such as Tennis, Football, Basketball and Netball on our outdoor courts area (MUGA).
- Conduct gym floor walk-throughs to assist members and answer questions.
- Promote gym programs, challenges, and personal training services.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all members
- Promote Health & Wellbeing across the site with the target of getting everyone on site more active. This could include activity sessions within the offices, energizer sessions before meeting and encouraging individuals to be more active throughout the day.
- There will be a requirement for working an irregular shift rota system, which will include evening and weekend working.
What you'll bring:
Previous experience in a similar client facing role is a plus, but excellent interpersonal and communication skills are the key
A positive, energetic and proactive attitude
Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
Certified Fitness Instructor (e.g. Level 2)
Experience in leading group fitness classes and providing gym floor support.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Passion for fitness, health, and helping others achieve their goals.
Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism.
Participate in all regular meetings to ensure good communication with all other team members
