Location: HMP Addiewell
Salary: £25,940 rising to £27,065 after successful 1-year
Contract Type: Full-time (37.5 hours/week, Monday–Friday)

At Sodexo, we believe in building a better everyday for everyone. As the world’s leading provider of quality-of-life services, we’re looking for a Finance Officer to join our team at HMP Addiewell. This role plays a key part in supporting the prison’s operations by ensuring the secure and accurate handling of prisoner funds in line with Sodexo Justice Services (SJS) policies.

What you'll do:

  • Record all prisoner cash transactions, adjudication deductions, and loan entries accurately and promptly
  • Process prisoner funds upon release and handle inter-prison cheque transfers
  • Maintain up-to-date, valuable property records and monitor phone usage costs
  • Manage petty cash and ensure full accountability of all prisoner monies
  • Support additional prison operations as required
  • Stay current with all mandatory and refresher training

What we’re looking for:

Essential

  • Strong IT skills and previous administration experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven experience in cash handling and financial record-keeping with high attention to detail.
  • Flexible and able to cope with fluctuating levels of demand and an evolving role.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a custodial or similar secure environment.
