Finance Manager

Job Introduction

   An opportunity has arisen for a finance professional to join the Ireland Business as Finance Manager. This is an exciting and broad role in which you will be a business partner to the operational team and help to shape business performance. Key areas of focus are supporting the business in the preparation, production and reporting of monthly results. You will work with the leadership team to model and price business opportunities, build and track performance metrics and propose initiatives to drive trading improvements. Also manage our wider accounting responsibilities and budgets within the wider Sodexo group.

 

Role Responsibility

  • Supporting the Account Directors (AD) and Account Managers (AM) in significant decision making.
  • Complete the annual budgeting and quarterly forecast process with the AD’s, AM’s and senior site managers. Challenge and support this process as appropriate.
  • Review/analyse site performance and provide commentary prior to declaration of financial results
  • Work with Account Managers to deliver accurate monthly accounts to reflect all activity within the account, ensuring that items such as WIP / major project activity are represented accurately
  • Take an active role in supporting the AD/AM in contract renewals and proposals for new and existing services and certain client meetings as required.
  • Prepare all required documentation to support capital investment ensuring it is line with the UKIC policy guidelines.
  • Produce management information for the operational team on a timely and effective basis
  • Seek to continually improve processes to eliminate administration burden and maximise opportunity to provide decision support. Embrace central initiatives and support their deployment into sites.
  • Delivering a strong management review and control process with the AD, AM, and senior site management. 
  • Maintain a robust forecasting process, identifying issues and opportunities and ensuring that the AD, AM, and senior site managers have action plans in place to address them. 
  • Ensure financial control environment is properly implemented, especially around cash, stock and cost control in units.
  • Work with the operational and finance teams to analyse performance trends and opportunities and to determine how best the insight from this work can be turned into real performance improvements in the business.  Once agreed, support and drive the implementation of this into the regional business e.g., driving the labour management project forward.
  • Complete post investment reviews for new services and significant investments and ensure we learn the lessons from them.
  • Support in the preparation of Corporation Tax and Statutory Accounts where required
  • Ad-hoc projects as required.

Accountabilities

  • The commercial aspects of Irish business (ROI and NI) are diverse and providing support to the account directors and their account managers is key.
  • Working with the Head of Finance – Ireland on all financial activities across the region covering internal control, planning, risk management, cash management activities.
  • Developing relationships with key stakeholders and attend client meetings as required (regional workshops, regional reviews)
  • Supporting business reviews on a monthly and ad-hoc basis
  • Supporting all Sodexo operational stakeholders and provide clarity to financial issues and review financial outputs (Solutions and Budgets). The ability to present complex financial information simply
  • Completion of ad-hoc Finance-related studies/presentations/training as requested by key stakeholders
  • Support in the preparation of Corporation Tax and Statutory Accounts where required

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Educated to degree or equivalent standard
  • Working towards accounting qualification (Part Qualified)
  • Proven track record in finance (minimum 5 years’ experience)
  • Commercial exposure to be support and business partner to the Head of Finance
  • Experience of financial modelling 
  • Process orientation
  • Hands on pro-active approach with an ability to work well in autonomy
  • Outstanding communication skills (Sodexo country finance teams and client finance team) and proven ability to work in a collaborative way
  • Presentation skills, ability to interact at any level of the organisation
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)

Desirable

  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative way
  • Previous financial experience ideally in an international and multicultural environment
