Finance Director, Healthcare UK&I
Job Introduction
As Finance Director for the UK&I Healthcare segment, you’ll enable region segment performance through financial leadership and business support and partnership.
As a member of the Regional Finance Leadership Team and Segment Executive Committee, you’ll provide strong commercial expertise, financial engineering and contractual acumen through an in-depth understanding of segment specific needs so as to provide financial support to sales and commercial processes, as well as contributing to the negotiation of complex deals, and ensuring contractual protections.
Reporting to the CEO, in this role you’ll primarily be responsible for delivering financial strategy for the business and managing financial risk. The successful candidate will have proven experience in financial planning, project management and programme control, creating financial models to enable winning bid solutions, forecasting and data analysis at a senior level.
Role Responsibility
Contributing to Regional financial leadership team and driving the performance of the Finance function and alignment of different dimensions within the Region
- Participating fully as a member of Regional Finance Leadership Team
- Ensuring all Group Finance policies, processes and procedures are known, understood and consistently applied in the segment to support the achievement of the Group’s Financial objectives; supporting the delivery of the Group Finance’s mission.
- Partnering with Region FP&A to provide relevant analytics forecasts variance analyses regarding region segment business, using Group standard templates and tools; support remediation plans and propose actions to increase profitability and cash flow.
- Personally role-modelling behaviours aligned with the Sodexo Group values (Service Spirit, Team Spirit and Spirit of Progress) and ethical principles (Loyalty, Respect for People, Transparency, Business integrity)
Enabling Segment performance through financial leadership and partnership for business support
- Supporting Global Segment Finance Head in implementing key Global Segment initiatives at regional level to ensure execution and delivery of Segment performance objectives
- Participating in contract design, management, negotiation of contract renewals, claim & overrun negotiation
- Ensuring financial discipline in regional investment decisions: building (or validating) business cases for regional segment OPEX and CAPEX commercial investments; using factual ROI and monitoring achievements after the event to drive learnings
- Challenging business case financials as a member of Stage Gate Investment Taskforces
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified accountant with great post qualification experience
- Ideally exposure to a complex, contract driven business
- Outstanding track record in influencing decision making and performance/profit improvement
- Prior experience critiquing and presenting investment cases
- A progressive track record within a blue-chip, well managed and ideally international business
- Prior experience of ensuring tight cost control in a competitive, low margin business
- Experience of government procurement and bid processes
- NHS or PFI experience
