Join Sodexo as a Finance Assistant – Where Precision Meets Purpose

Location: Hybrid – split between Home & Data Centre, 320 Broadway, Salford, Manchester, M50 2UE
Days/Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
Working Hours: Standard business hours
Total Hours Per Week: Full-time (40 hours per week; 8 hours per day, flexible between 8.30am and 6pm)

We’re looking for an organised, proactive, and detail-focused Finance Assistant to join our State Schools Finance Hub. In this role, you’ll help keep our financial processes running smoothly, support multiple school sites, and contribute to the success of a team that values collaboration, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

About the Role

As a Finance Assistant, you’ll play a vital part in the day-to-day financial operations across Sodexo’s State Schools division. Working closely with the Senior Co-ordinator, you’ll process financial transactions, manage orders, and support accurate reporting that helps drive operational success.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Assist the Senior Co-ordinator with daily finance tasks and ongoing projects.

  • Manage and process purchase orders efficiently and accurately.

  • Support cashless and cash-in-transit reconciliations.

  • Manage project sales invoices and pricing amendments in master files.

  • Liaise with vendors to obtain quotes and maintain smooth communication.

  • Collaborate with commercial finance teams on client investment and CapEx orders.

  • Help compile SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and SLAs (Service Level Agreements).

  • Provide support to Hub Administrators when needed.

  • Contribute to yearly audit preparation and compliance checks.

  • Respond promptly to queries through shared mailboxes, ensuring service excellence.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking an individual with strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a positive attitude toward teamwork and learning.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in finance or administrative support, ideally within a service-based or multi-site organisation.

  • Familiarity with financial systems (E-ProphIT knowledge preferred but not essential).

  • Excellent communication and IT skills.

  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.

  • A calm, confident, and professional telephone manner.

  • The ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting your team.
