Job Introduction

An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly experienced Facilities engineer / coordinator to join our team in Co. Cork. Managing the day to day facilities maintenance and ensuring all work is signed off to a high standard, you would have a proven track record in facilities management and ensuring completion of work orders. You will be highly familiar with CMMS system process with excellent stakeholder management and have excellent interpersonal skills.

Role Responsibility

  • Manage daily activity of facility service contractors i.e., permits, work orders, follow up work, etc. 

  • Act as area owner for site infrastructure including roads, bunds, drains and cladding 

  • Manage close-out of customer requests for minor facility repairs or upgrades 

  • Proactively audit site facility standards and drive improvements 

  • Actively support waste reduction and manage remediation works required to close out engineering issues 

  • Promote, monitor and suggest improvements to the site safety, engineering and quality standards 

  • Actively support the planning, organisation and implementation of maintenance tasks including shutdown periods 

  • Assist in the development/updating and implementation of the site facilities master plan 

  • Assist in the negotiation of facility-related service contracts, integrate them into the maintenance schedules and supervise their operation accordance with the business needs 

  • Participate in cross-functional and inter-site teams as required 

  • Project manage facility related projects outside of the scope of the C&PE team 

  • Fulfils a variety of other, ad hoc, responsibilities that are assigned to him/her and that are consistent with his/her role 

The Ideal Candidate

  • A degree level engineering qualification with proven post-qualification experience working in a maintenance environment and/or managing construction contractors 

                                                                          Or 

  • A qualified craftsperson with certification experience working in a maintenance environment and/or managing construction contractors 

Strong mechanical or electrical engineering background 

Proven operational management experience, fully conversant with Facilities Management processes and procedures 

Good interpersonal and team skills with the ability to communicate and interact at all levels 

Resilient, motivated, confident, and customer focused  

Able to quickly identify opportunities to optimise and or improve hard/soft FM service delivery
