Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the effective delivery of hard and soft FM services across Beath High School and, when required, Queen Anne High School, as part of the Fife Schools PPP.
Working alongside another Facilities Manager, the successful candidate will act as the key operational link between the client, the Contract Director, and the school’s leadership team, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of both sites.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day delivery of hard services (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and assist in the oversight of soft services.
Working alongside another hard FM manager and the admin team, report writing, dealing with invoices and reports.
Serve as the main point of contact for Head Teachers, school representatives, and local authority partners.
Produce and maintain monthly client reports, invoices, annual PPM schedules, and lifecycle plans.
Manage and update the CAFM system (PlanetFM), ensuring accurate records and timely completion of works.
Lead the onsite administration/helpdesk team and assist in managing janitorial and site maintenance staff.
Oversee statutory and contractual compliance, ensuring all work meets health, safety, and environmental standards.
Manage subcontractors and suppliers to achieve agreed SLA and KPI targets.
Monitor budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities to improve service efficiency.
Support and deputise for the Senior Facilities Manager when required.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including Fife Council, SPV management, and Sodexo colleagues.
Provide leadership and development for staff, ensuring high performance, engagement, and adherence to company policies.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Proven experience managing FM teams and contractors.
Strong technical background and/or qualification in building services.
Excellent people management, communication, and organisational skills.
Financial and commercial awareness, with the ability to interpret and use data effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements and health & safety legislation (IOSH or equivalent).
Flexible and willing to participate in an on-call rota for emergency situations.
Must be eligible for PVG clearance (Disclosure Scotland).
Desirable:
Experience within a PFI/PPP or Education environment.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards.
NEBOSH qualification and/or BIFM membership.
Experience in report writing and audit compliance.
