Job Introduction
As a Data Champion at Sodexo. Harnessing Data intelligence is at the heart of the Global & Regional SM Transformation Program. Data Champions are key to the successful delivery of this program and are key players in building foundations to capture, master and manage data.
Champion our data, acting as trustees of SM data management topics within the Regions;
Ensure data is treated and looked after as a strategic asset, helping to improve data quality and better leveraging its value, by instilling a data centric culture of continuous improvement with a view to supply chain excellence and value enhancement;
Shape and define short and long-term local data roadmaps, which underpin global and regional strategy and objectives;
Ensuring people, tools and processes are fit for purpose to deliver the business needs and realize growth, value and opportunities with our Data;
Finally, this role will report to the SM Global Data Governance Director, and work under the supervision (i.e. dotted-line) to UK&I Master Data, Process and Vendor Governance Manager

Role Responsibility
People, processes and tools:
- Foster and embed a data aware, data literate and data centric culture, influencing and shaping continuous process improvements amongst data consumers and producers in your Region;
- Lead the end-to-end process of data capture and management, ensuring it is aligned with the needs of Supply Management regionally and globally and conforms to global Data Governance standards and policies;
- Understand and manage the data requirements of both Suppliers and Products ensuring it is fit for purpose for downstream processes including but not limited to e.g. Recipe Management, Product & service Ordering, Dietary, Allergen, compliance, HSEQ and Sustainability reporting, Price calculation to site level, Volume collection, Rebate and Income calculations;
- Ensure regional/ local data quality alongside with IT teams, enhance and prevent data pollution, by fostering the right implementation of controls (systems/processes) or best practice behaviours (people) in relevant teams. This includes ensuring data is accessible, reshaped and cleaned when needed, recoded into a more manageable and consistent structure;
Data definitions, metrics and quality:
- Identification and definition of priority ‘data points’ and their quality metrics tolerances and/or targets. Maintain business glossary and data dictionary.
- Shape socialise and embedding the data quality dashboard. Act on data quality reports to fix, enhance and prevent data pollution, by implementing controls (systems/processes) or changing behaviours (people) in relevant teams.

- Drive & guarantee country data enrichment (notably on product & supplier master data);
Represent your Region as the Data Champion
Be the main point of contact for all Regional data queries and represent the Regional data processes in relevant data working groups, to ensure that data governance, best practice and data sharing opportunities are maximised.
As appropriate:
- Coordinate & facilitate global taxonomy roll-out in your Region as well as other global initiatives
- Participate in global data glossary and data quality metrics and measures definition;
- Assess, remediate and monitor Data Quality in her/his Region leveraging our global SM data quality framework (data quality KPIs, DQ dashboard, tolerance, remediation plan, priority data points, etc.)
- Ensure regional/ local implementation of global standards/ best practices;
- Represent regional Supply Management data on any regional and global committees and on major data related projects.
The Ideal Candidate
- Solid experience in Data Management & Data Governance.
- Knowledge of supply Management & Procurement desired.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural and matrix environment.
- Good knowledge of data quality issues/ challenges & data management processes.
- Affinity for data modelization & data usages.
- Experience in project management with ability to build and deliver a roadmap of initiatives across countries.
- Experience in working with IT teams.
- Team player with good communication & influencing skills.
- Ability to federate, establish links and cooperate with other roles/stakeholders involved in data management (CSR, SM finance, catalogue manager, data users, legal, process owners, security, etc.).
- Open to change, curious and complete attention to detail.
- Fluency in English, other European languages a plus.
