Cook Supervisor

Job Introduction

 Job Opportunity: Cook Supervisor – Abbey Park, Swindon
 Location: Abbey Park School, Redhouse Way, Swindon, SN25 2ND
 Pay: £13.50 per hour
⏰ Hours: 32.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 14:30 | Term Time Only

As Cook Supervisor, you’ll work alongside the Cook Manager to help lead a dedicated catering team, showcase high-quality dishes, and deliver an outstanding food service to students and staff – all in a friendly, structured environment with no late evenings or weekends.


What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare, cook, and present meals to company standards – including breakfast, morning break, and lunch service.

  • Assist the Cook Manager in ensuring food is attractively displayed and served with care.

  • Follow all health, safety, allergen, COSHH, and HACCP procedures.

  • Support and train catering staff in craft and service skills.

  • Maintain clean and safe kitchen and food storage areas.

  • Carry out daily and weekly cleaning schedules.

  • Provide exceptional customer service and help ensure a smooth, professional operation.


What You’ll Bring:

  • At least 1 year’s hands-on cooking experience (training in Food Hygiene & H&S provided).

  • Experience preparing food on a large scale (100–1300 students).

  • Confidence in following recipes and working with fresh ingredients.

  • Awareness of food safety and kitchen compliance standards.

  • Calm, positive, and professional attitude – especially under pressure.

  • Experience supervising or supporting a kitchen team is a plus.

  • Relevant food handling certification (Level 2 Food Safety desirable).

Package Description

A role where you can bring your passion for food

**Equated pay (sometimes known as spread-over pay) is a method of paying you for your contracted hours, working weeks and holiday pay spread over 12 months instead of just receiving pay during the months that you work and none during the school closures/non-working weeks. This means that you get paid equal amounts of pay every month. Further information will be supplied at interview stage.**
