Business Analyst

Job Introduction

We’re looking for a Business Analyst with a passion for creating analytical and data solutions to join our newly formed Analytics Centre of Excellence (A-CoE) within the Central Finance function. Our A-CoE is responsible for exploring the current reporting landscape and delivering an innovative and effective common data platform which will deliver consistent and relevant MI and reporting to our organisation.

Acting as a technical point of support & expertise to the Head of Financial Analytics, you’ll be highly collaborative, able to work cooperatively with a wide range of stakeholders and have a great mind for problem solving. You’ll have strong technical experience with Azure deployment, Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, Excel, VBA, SQL, Data Architecture and Security implementation. You’ll be capable of understanding and distilling complex data, processes & concepts from a wide range of subject matters and have a continuous improvement mindset.

We’re looking for a business analyst with experience of leveraging technology to deliver scalable solutions that provide consistency and standardisation whilst still maintaining nuances required by different operational users. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in co-designing, building and managing our regional reporting platform. You’ll be home based and keep in touch with your team and colleagues via technology and adhoc face to face meetings.

The grade for this position is H2.

Role Responsibility

  • Delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of the CoE analytics solutions
  • Maintain existing analytics & delivery of continuous improvement.
  • Staying up to date with advances in the analytics sphere, providing technical counsel to the Head of Financial Analysis and maintaining relationships with IS&T.
  • Actively sharing knowledge and coaching the team to help bridge capability gaps and strengthen the CoE teams reputation. Where necessary, extending this to our other stakeholders with the aim of maximising the benefit to the business.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Strong technical experience Azure deployment, Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, Excel, VBA, SQL, Data Architecture and Security implementation.
  • Able to understand and distil complex data and processes from a wide range of subject matters.
  • Experience of building complex data architectures that are scalable, flexible and sustainable whilst maintaining user friendly outputs.
  • Strong problem solver: able to dissect a problem, identify bottlenecks, constraints, issues and find solutions or actions.
  • Experience of identifying, championing and providing counsel on technology to support the strategic agenda.
  • Thrives on learning new skills fast and practically deploying them into the business.
  • Experience of data governance controls and strong attention to detail.
  • Solid experience of delivering customer centric solutions with a strong user experience.
  • Strong engagement skills; a good listener, sensitive to the needs of others and welcomes a feedback culture. Demonstrates ability to build relationships at all organisation levels and recognises others.
  • Resilient and able to persevere through difficult challenges.
  • A mindset of continuous improvement, innovation and willingness to go above and beyond.
