Job Introduction

Assistant Catering Manager 

As an Assistant Catering Manager at the prestigious Eton College you will enjoy working as part of a team and you are happy to get stuck in and support your colleagues with good organizational skills and have the ability to nurture a good working relationship with other departments and stakeholders, being able to work unsupervised and use your own initiative is key.

Role Responsibility

  • Work alongside two co Assistant Managers, to ensure the smooth, efficient and effective catering service in Bekynton and associated areas.  In addition to act as cover for the Deputy General Manager in his/her absence.
  • Support the Deputy General Manager in the day to day management of the Catering Teams – compiling rotas and updating staffing schedules to ensure efficient resource allocation
  • To ensure the daily food safety and allergen paperwork is completed to the required standard and to report/take action on shortfalls
  • Ensure all new catering & front of house staff are inducted and provided with comprehensive on job training
  • To support and manage all aspects of production and presentation of service, having regard for delivering high standards of health and safety, hygiene, nutritional value and allergen control and ensure non-compliance is reported
 

The Ideal Candidate

  • A recognised food hygiene qualification
  • Knowledge of volume catering
  • Clear understanding of Health and Safety legislation
  • Clear understanding of Food Hygiene legislation
  • Ability to supervise and develop junior members of the catering team
  • Ability to co-ordinate and deliver event hospitality
