We have a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to become a vital part of our established team at HMP Addiewell, as an Education Activities Administrator.

 

What We Are Offering:

  • Salary £22,308 Per Annum
  • A permanent and fulltime position. 
  • Monday to Friday working week.

What the Job Looks Like:

As an Education Activities Administrator, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility, contributing to the safe and effective administration of our prison environment.

We know that candidates may be apprehensive about the thought of working in a prison environment. However, at HMP Addiewell we foster an environment of rehabilitation and development whilst ensuring a secure and safe environment to work in. You will be fully supported by our staff, who will always ensure that you feel comfortable and safe to confidently fulfil your duties.

Whilst the role is varied and you can be expected to carry out a variety of tasks, some of the key areas you will likely be involved in are:

  • Manage residents’ employment and activity admin tasks, including scheduling and record-keeping.
  • Support departmental staff in maintaining prison activity education programs.
  • Gather data for monitoring and input into systems.
  • Maintain filing systems for audits and support management during audits for compliance.
  • Manage candidate registrations and certifications.
  • Provide administrative support to training assessors and verifiers.
  • Cover for departmental administrators as needed.
  • Undertake general office administrative duties.

The Ideal Candidate:

This role is a great opportunity for someone looking for their first administration role or wanting to continue developing their administration competencies in a new environment. 

Whilst some administration experience would be advantageous, we would still encourage you to apply if you meet the following criteria:

  • Some experience in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Awareness of GDPR principles.
  • Proactive, innovative, and eager to learn and develop.
  • Demonstration of excellent organisational skills, even under pressure.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Reliable, integrous, and professional. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a target-driven environment.
  • Thrives both independently and collaboratively within a team.
