Accommodation Manager

Job Introduction

We are currently recruiting an Accommodation Manager to join our Student Living by Sodexo business and oversee Chambers 51, a property development for student accommodation in Wolverhampton.

As Accommodation Manager, you will manage property sales/promotion, student welfare/experience, daily property maintenance, tenancies and rent/debt collection at Chambers 51. You will work collaboratively with the University and teams to increase occupancy through the management of key relationships with stakeholders, customers and students.

Chambers 51 consists of 157 private rooms in a modern and spacious building and offers a choice between en-suite rooms and studios that have been designed to make the students feel at home. Managed by Sodexo, Chambers 51 enhances the student experience with a fully equipped common room and brand new gym for the students to use.

This role would suit commercial individuals from the property and customer services business, who have a keen interest in student living and welfare and enhancing the student experience. Although this role is primarily Monday to Friday, it may require weekend / evening work as per business needs.

Role Responsibility

  • Take ownership of the property, developing a team approach to service delivery and fostering an attitude of service excellence
  • Consistently drive high standards providing a one stop seamless service to all tenants, visitors, stakeholders and clients alike
  • Process rental payments and lead the local team in the collection/referral of arrears
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all relevant University/Institution departments and local competitors
  • Supervise the facilities team to deliver reactive and planned preventative maintenance through the year and during summer operations program
  • Facilitate tenant welfare issues onsite through tenant mediation and University support teams
  • Attendance to emergency situations such as fire alarms and requests for assistance from tenants and colleagues
  • Monitor and report upon sales/viewings data and drive improvements
  • Work with the Marketing Manager around key sales/marketing campaigns

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of property management (PPM), lettings management and general maintenance (FM)
  • Background in student accommodation or equivalent preferred
  • Excellent customer focus and passionate about the customer journey and student welfare
  • Strong team manager and ability to work with sales and marketing teams
  • Commercial and able to manage budgets, rent and debt
  • Strong communication skills and organisation skills
  • Flexibility to the needs of the business
