Accommodation Manager - Student Living

Job Introduction

We are currently seeking an Accommodation Manager to work full-time (including weekends) to support our team at Northumbria University.

In this role, you’ll be part of a high-performing, dynamic team who work collaboratively to create an awesome living experience for our students. You’ll support the guest services and facilities support team by helping them handle customer queries and by acting as an escalation point for any issues that arise.

At Northumbria University we provide student living services across 6 sites (5 in Newcastle upon Tyne and 1 in Gateshead) which house over 2,500 students.

This position is a 6-month fixed-term contract however at the end of the initial 6 months, there may be the opportunity to extend or for you to find other opportunities in the contract or on other Sodexo sites.

Role Responsibility

  • Act as the duty manager during weekends
  • Support the guest services and facilities support teams in acting on customer queries
  • Act as primary escalation point for any issues that arise
  • Lead the on-site team in providing excellent customer service
  • Manage any contractors working on-site to deliver services
  • Support the Operations Manager in delivering services and providing information to the client as requested
  • Promote a “zero-accident” culture to the on-site team

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Proven experience of working in an operational management position within an FM, hotel, hospitality or student living setting
  • High level of computer literacy
  • High degree of emotional intelligence
  • Proven experience of continued professional development
  • Management Experience and communication skills
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Client relationship skills
  • Proven commercial acumen
  • Supplier and sub-contractor management
  • A self-starter with managerial experience with the ability to develop relationships that drive results

Desirable

  • IWFM level 3 qualified or qualified by experience
  • IOSH Managing Safety qualification or willing to work towards it
  • Experience of using SAP or similar financial management/payroll system
  • Experience of using a CAFM system

Package Description

Up to £30,000 (pro rata)
