18 AEC IERO Clerk

Job Introduction

About the role 

Administrative support to the Individual Education and Resettlement Officer (IERO), Resettlement Warrant Officer (RWO) and Career Transition Partnership (CTP).

  • The administration of all documents, letters and data entry tasks will be processed accurately and in accordance with Ministry of Defence (MOD) policy.  
  • Enquiries will be answered effectively, and clients will be satisfied. 
  • Administrative tasks will be undertaken in a timely manner to ensure that courses, workshops and other events run smoothly. 
  • Manage telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries from Service Leavers and Units within Colchester Garrison’s Area of Responsibility (AOR) regarding resettlement, individual education, appointments, policy information and claim administration.
  • Manage the Individual Education and Resettlement Officer’s (IERO) diary, including booking appointments and briefs.
  • Maintain 18 AEC Colchester’s Unit resettlement contact list, acting as point of contact for Unit advice and guidance.
  • Cover IERO Clerk 1 in their absence.
  • Process and administrate Joint Personnel Administration (JPA) workflows and claims.
  • Provide advice to Service Leavers regarding their JPA claims.
  • Update and maintain all IERO databases and spreadsheets. 
  • Proactively review and promote resettlement policies.
  • Archive Service Leaver files in accordance with policy.
  • Provide administrative support to the annual 18 AEC Group Whole Life Development Open Day and roadshow events.
  • Provide IT support to clients when required.
  • General administration duties (filing, faxing, photocopying).
  • At the direction of relevant Authority Personnel perform general duties in accordance with the Staff Duties for Administrative Support - Training Support Posts (Paragraph 1, Appendix 3, Section 12 of Part 3 to Schedule 4 of the Project Agreement).
  • To maintain excellent client/customer relationships
  • To attend team briefs, huddles and meetings as required
  • To attend your performance development review to discuss job standards and agree development activities
  • To maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times
  • To maintain high levels of personal hygiene and wear the appropriate uniform and PPE as required
  • To care for all available resources including equipment, materials and supplies as directed
  • To report any near miss occurrences, accidents, or faulty equipment to management
  • To ensure effective communication with line manager, team, customer, and client organisation
  • To maintain all areas of responsibility to the set service standards and in line with applicable service offer
  • To carry out any other reasonable tasks and/or instruction as directed by management

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent; or NVQ Business Administration Level 2.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to work well individually and as part of a team. 
  • Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance required.
  • Requires MODNET (Communications and Information System) Account and will be required to undertake Defence Information Management Passport (DIMP) training, which is a mandatory e-learning course.

 

Desirable 

  • Knowledge of Resettlement and Individual Education procedures and regulations.  

 

Package Description

  • 37 hours a week- working full time!
  • Mon-Thu: 08:00-16:30   Fri: 08:00-13:00
  • £9.78 per hour
