Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm
Pay: £14.87 per hour

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Cleaning Supervisor to join our team at the Phillips 66 Humber Refinery. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with previous supervisory experience in a cleaning environment, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to leading teams and maintaining high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the cleaning team, ensuring all duties are carried out in line with SLAs

  • Monitor cleaning performance through regular quality audits and inspections

  • Induct and train new team members, delivering toolbox talks and ongoing coaching

  • Maintain a hands-on approach, assisting with daily cleaning duties, deep cleans, and covering absences when required

  • Ensure staff understand expectations around workloads, standards, and client relationships

  • Carry out regular inspections of cleaning equipment and arrange replacements when necessary

  • Maintain cleaning supplies and order stock from approved suppliers

  • Conduct weekly huddle meetings with the department manager

  • Complete annual competency checks and support Personal Development Reviews (PDRs)

  • Conduct monthly cleaning audits across all areas

  • Monitor staff attendance daily and complete return-to-work meetings following sickness absence

  • Manage grievance and disciplinary procedures in line with company policies and HR guidance

  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in line with company and industry standards

  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and customers, providing a friendly and professional service

  • Adhere to all health & safety policies, including COSHH, hygiene, fire safety, and safe working practices

  • Report all accidents and near misses in accordance with company procedures

  • Ensure all equipment is safe to use and report faults immediately

  • Attend and complete all required job-related training

  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager

  • Previous experience supervising within a cleaning environment

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • A hands-on, team-focused approach

  • Knowledge of COSHH and health & safety regulations

  • High standards of personal hygiene and professional appearance

  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and service standards

  • Willingness to undertake training and development
