About the Role
We are currently recruiting a Cleaning Operative to support the delivery of high-quality cleaning services within a school environment. This role is key to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming space for staff, students, and visitors, in line with client and Sodexo standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and service allocated areas efficiently and to the required standards, including daily, weekly, and periodic tasks
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly, in line with COSHH guidelines and training
- Maintain cleaning stores, equipment, and materials in a clean, tidy, and safe condition
- Display appropriate safety signage at all times (e.g. wet floor signs)
- Report faulty equipment, low stock levels, hazards, or health & safety concerns promptly
- Follow all company, client, and statutory health & safety, hygiene, fire, and security procedures
- Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, appearance, and professionalism
- Provide cover in other areas when required during absences
- Attend training sessions and meetings to maintain service standards
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working in a cleaning role or cleaning team (desirable)
- COSHH training (or willingness to be trained)
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions
- Experience working in a standards- or compliance-driven environment is an advantage
- A reliable, flexible, and positive approach to work
