Sodexo are recruiting for a Global Head of Scientific Services for a prestigious client, you will lead the development and growth of Sodexo scientific services globally across the business, with a strong focus on Research & Development operations as well as support for the wider client portfolio. Your main place of work will be Stevenage with potential to work from other locations when appropriate as well as UK & Global travel as and when required.
As Global Head of Scientific Services you will have a strong technical background in scientific service delivery and/or design. It is essential for you to have knowledge of a range of scientific services including Lab services, D&L, LIS and TLS.

Role Responsibility
- Supporting the development and growth of Sodexo Scientific services globally
- Oversee all the scientific services operations across the research and development portfolio globally.
- Fulfil the contract objectives (financial, operational, compliance etc).
- Maintain the quality and integrity of scientific service whilst being fully compliant with the client and scientific processes.
- Oversee and direct the delivery of scientific services globally: Services include:
- Technical Lab Services for R&D (e.g. laboratory support activities, pilot plant support, Media and Reagent Preparation, Technical Stewarding, Glass ware cleaning, gas services, managing chemical inventories and stockrooms).
- Laboratory Instrument Services for non-R&D (e.g. calibration, maintenance, repair, asset management).
- Accountable for ensuring that all services delivered by Sodexo and 3rd parties are delivered in accordance with relevant standards (i.e. EHS, GxP, contractual).
- Develop and deliver strategic plans in the support of Scientific Services for the client and Sodexo LifeScience clients.
- Support the global growth of Scientific Services.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and provide program / project management for various Scientific related projects.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership; including oversight of technical training programs.
- Participate in account senior team for the development of the account and the assurance of service for the client.
- Work on broader organisational issues in order to recommend ways that the organisation can improve.
- Apply Operational Excellence tools to solve problems.
- Responsible for driving efficiency through improved processes and operational changes.
The Ideal Candidate
- Scientific degree/further education qualified
- Evidence of strong technical experience in scientific service delivery and/or design.
- An appropriate level of management and/or leadership experience
- Knowledge of a range of scientific services – Lab Services, D&L, LIS, TLS etc
- Active member of professional body (desirable not essential)
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and resources.
- Strong stakeholder management – this post requires significant influence
- Experience of procurement/contract negotiation (desirable not essential)
