Scientific Services Solutions Manager

Job Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong scientific and pharmaceutical background who wants the opportunity to utilise their skills and progress.

You will take responsibility for managing the laboratory engineering teams who provide technical support to our FMCG contracts.

This role will require you to travel to numerous sites on a regular basis. A full clean driving license is essential for this role.

Role Responsibility

  • You will be required to manage the operational teams at various client sites, ensuring that the scientific services delivered to the client is of the highest standards.
  • You will develop the technical capability within Sodexo scientific services and manage the site based laboratory engineering teams, who provide technical support
  • The contracts that you will support include, pharmaceutical, consumer health and FMCG sectors and possibly other industries such as oil and gas
  • Support the business development function through conducting due diligence activities at prospective client sites
  • Propose solutions where necessary to our client
  • Identify opportunities for organic growth and new business.
  •  Line manage and coach staff to achieve the required service levels of agreement set by the client.
  • Continuously keep up to date with all product knowledge and innovation and create best in class technical documentation for Sodexo scientific services library
  • Deliver technical training to staff on a variety of topics

The Ideal Candidate

  • Business acumen and knowledge of external industry developments in relation to scientific services.
  • Experience in delivering training in various formats to various skill levels.
  • Strong communication and skills – able to communicate to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent relationship management abilities at all levels.
  • Experience working in a standards/compliance  environment (e.g. GxP).
  • Extensive technical knowledge in two or more of the following field: chemistry, electronics, equipment maintenance, IT. 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a pharmaceutical environment.
  • Strong engineering experience.
  • Sound scientific knowledge.
  • Able to demonstrate flexibility.
