Laboratory Instrument Support Engineer

Job Introduction

This is a unique opportunity and one which will allow you to utilise your skills and grow this area within Sodexo. As Laboratory Services Engineer you will ensure the successful delivery of repair and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation at a world renowned pharmaceutical company. You will also assist with developing the reputation of Sodexo Scientific Services and growing the business.

Role Responsibility

  • Responsible for routine and non routine maintenance of HPLC and GC in accordance with the client’s current processes and validation requirements
  • Assist with updating protocols and processes to remain current and compliant within the clients validation requirements
  • Assist with the scheduling of 3rd party vendor equipment for calibration/service
  • Co-ordination with site operators, groups & users
  • Liaise with facility users on general instrument issues
  • Stock control of routine consumables
  • Requirement to travel around the UK at short notice

The Ideal Candidate

  • Engineering/Chemistry related degree
  • Experienced in troubleshooting and servicing of various manufacturers of HPLC & GC systems
  • Good communication and computer skills
  • Experience working within the pharmaceutical Industry/GxP environment
  • Self motivated, flexible and adaptable
  • Customer focused – managing their expectations and resolving any issues effectively and efficiently
  • Full Driving License
  • Experience in maintaining UPLC and Mass Spec systems
  • Understanding of Quality Management System (QMS)
