As a Joiner at Haywood Hospital, you'll be the go-to expert for technical support and maintenance across equipment, building systems, and utility services.

Join Sodexo and be part of something greater. You belong in a team where you can act with purpose and thrive in your own way.

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on building fabric including doors, windows, walls, floors, ceilings, and fixtures.
  • Maintain and repair fire doors, compartmentation, fire stopping, and passive fire protection systems in line with HTM 05-02 and fire safety regulations.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance issues, carrying out repairs to walls, ceilings, flooring, joinery, ironmongery, locks, and access control systems.
  • Complete minor construction and fabrication works such as installing shelves, cupboards, worktops, locks, and security fittings.
  • Work safely and compliantly, following risk assessments, PPE requirements, COSHH, and Working at Height regulations.
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment effectively, managing materials and personal stock responsibly.
  • Support clinical and non-clinical areas by adapting spaces and working professionally within patient-facing environments.
  • Maintain accurate records using CAFM systems and collaborate with team members while participating in ongoing training and development.

What You Bring:

  • Professional, reliable and conscientious individual with a proactive and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Confident and capable decision-maker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain logical under pressure.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, able to manage changing priorities and respond appropriately to urgent situations.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements, including safe systems of work, RAMS, and compliance standards.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and report-writing skills, with good computer literacy.
  • Relevant trade qualification (Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2/3) and experience within a maintenance or engineering environment.
  • Desirable certifications including IOSH, Asbestos Awareness, PASMA/IPAF, and Fire Door Installation/Maintenance, with knowledge of passive fire protection.
  • Experience working in occupied or healthcare environments, with awareness of infection prevention and control principles and healthcare-specific standards.
