Job Introduction
Are you able to analyse data, forecast and produce detailed reports with a view of implementing better ways of working?
Are you a solution focused individual who always acts with professionalism and resilience? If yes, then this may be the opportunity for you!
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Workforce Planning Manager to join our team at HMP Peterborough.
As the Workforce Planning Manager, with a focus on the use of people resources within the prison, you will work with our staff deployment team to review and resolve resourcing and staff deployment issues. You will use data in order to understand operational issues and then lead on the implementation of improved ways of working. You will engage with our colleagues positively and be able to influence at all levels.
HMP/YOI Peterborough is the country’s only dual prison, housing both male and female prisoners. At our prison, you will find a 12-place mother and baby unit, education department, healthcare department, hair and beauty salon, workshops and much more.
At HMP Peterborough, we are committed to offering education and development programmes to provide prisoners with the skills required to enter employment upon release – this in turn reduces the chance of reoffending. Providing creative outlets, such as workshop activities, helps to equip those in prison for when they are released. We use ‘Restorative Approaches’ to bring people in conflict into dialogue.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Oversee workforce planning to ensure the prison is sufficiently staffed to carry out operational requirements
- Focus on solutions and continuous improvement by using data effectively from different sources
- Ensure all policies and procedures relating to staff deployment, sick absence and annual leave are adhered to
- Maintain resilience in a pressurised environment
