  • Location is Wythenshawe Hospital, Southmoor Road, Manchester, M23 9LT

Are you passionate about fostering a healthy, motivated, and engaged workforce? We are seeking a proactive and detail oriented HR professional to lead our absence management and employee wellbeing initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will oversee attendance levels, ensure compliance with absence policies, and support our team through effective communication and support. Your expertise will help us maintain a positive work environment, promote employee engagement, and uphold our commitment to the wellbeing of our staff. What You'll Do:

  • Analyse absence reports and Kronos system to identify individuals on long term sickness and ensure compliance with the attendance policy.
  • Monitor and maintain Kronos data on long term and short term sickness, as well as unauthorised absences, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
  • Report on absence trends, non compliance, and patterns to departmental managers and HR, recommending necessary actions for improvement.
  • Support managers and supervisors in adhering to absence processes, including calculating lost time rates and conducting investigations into unauthorised absence or timekeeping issues.
  • Promote employee wellbeing initiatives in alignment with the employee engagement committee to foster a positive workplace environment

What You Bring:

  • Essential:
    • Worked within a busy operational, target driven environment
    • 3 years management experience, including managing employee absences
    • Experience in holding difficult conversations and chairing disciplinary meetings
    • Pro active approach to compliance and a can-do attitude
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate to all levels within Sodexo
    • Positive approach to learning in role and identifying own training needs as appropriate
    • Excellent time management and organisational skills to deliver effective service in a demanding environment with the ability to work to tight deadlines
    • Comfortable challenging common practice and highlighting non compliance
    • Excellent Excel skills and report building
  • Desirable:

    • CIPD Level 5 qualification or willingness to work towards
