Waste and Sustainability Manager

Job Introduction

How does a 4-day week sound? Here at Sodexo, we have an excellent opportunity for a Waste and Sustainability Manager to provide impactful and innovative support across a high profile client site in Weybridge.

In this role, you will work closely with our client to manage waste across three sites, incorporating their R&D business and global HQ, taking a consultative approach to reducing waste, adhering to compliance, and providing innovative solutions. Your focus will be to provide oversight to ensure the safe and compliant delivery of Environmental Services and to ensure all legislative and client requirements are met for all waste streams managed by Sodexo.

We are looking for someone with strong customer relationship/ influencing skills and consistent waste management experience; scientific experience/qualifications would be ideal.

Role Responsibility

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure all aspects of Health & Safety, Environment and Quality Assurance within Environmental Services are compliant
  • Legislative compliance. Ensuring that all aspects of waste operations under your responsibility are conducted in accordance with all relevant statutory requirements and Codes of Practice.
  • Ensure routine waste collection and associated paperwork are completed safely, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Work with science customer groups to ensure all waste are correctly handled and disposed of, to provide training to customers as required.
  • Manage all project waste on site
  • Work with client to review all waste streams on site to see if a more sustainable solution can we found.
  • Work with QEHS manager to ensure all systems are compliant in regard to waste management.

The Ideal Candidate

What you bring:

  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of UK Waste Regulations.
  • Qualification or relevant consistent experience in Waste Management Operations, preferably Pharmaceutical.
  • Ideally a science-based degree or equivalent
  • Financial acumen
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Basic chemical safety and awareness.
  • Experience in auditing waste operations.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Computer literate in Word and Excel.

Package Description

Up to £35,000pa + excellent benefits

Location: Weybridge KT13

Permanent Part Time

Work Pattern – 30 hrs pw
