Waste Operative

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a Waste Operative to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.

Role Responsibility

  • Collect general, plastic, cardboard waste bins and bales from across site daily
  • Collect other waste from site and deliver to recycling area
  • Arrange waste removal off site with nominated supplier
  • Ensure waste is correctly baled, compacted or packaged as required
  • Correctly store waste in line with regulatory guidelines
  • Ensure all required documents are completed and filed for each collection / delivery
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is filed and retained as required
  • Ensure all equipment is kept in a safe working order
  • Segregate and store all waste into its correct storage container
  • Ensure all work areas are maintained in a clean and tidy manner

 

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Fork Lift Truck Licence
  • Organizational skills
  • Good IT Skills
  • Ability to comply with service requirements in line with client and company policies
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Package Description

  • Successful candidate will need to be available to start in role immediately
  • Must be available to work 12 hour shifts between the hours of 6pm - 6am / 6am - 6pm, on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern
  • Cover any absence and staff annual leave. This will include day time and weekends.
  • You will provide a high quality, timely, responsive and proactive service to meet the needs of the contract. You will undertake tasks such as transporting stock, and waste internally within the yard and between different building across the site in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Previous experience in a manual handling role
  • Must be able to physically stand for several hours with good mobility
  • Native or bilingual/good level of English
  • Commitment to the work and adhere to the strict guidelines and procedures required
  • Effective communication and customer care skills with visitors, clients, and staff
  • Ability to deal with food waste, smells, and dirt 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team  
  • Training and full personal protective equipment will be provided.
  • This position is likely to become a permanent position.
