Ward Steward (Patient Dining)

Job Introduction

We are currently recruiting for a number of Ward Stewards in our Patient Dining teams at Hereford County Hospital. There are various shift patterns available, covering numerous days.

You are required to be courteous, helpful and efficient, ensuring high standards of customer care and demonstrating commitment to a positive patient experience, whist delivering a meal service in accordance to work schedules and in line with Sodexo and Trust policies.

You will always seek to raise standards and improve service quality on site.

Role Responsibility

• Assist in the provision of meals and beverages to patients within the hospital whilst complying with Sodexo and NHS policy
• Carry out all routine kitchen cleaning duties at the prescribed times and in compliance with the specific cleaning schedules
• Use and care of approved materials and equipment at all times in accordance with the operator instructions.
• Undertake all duties in a safe manner using hazard signs as appropriate
• Maintenance of all hygiene records and documents as per HACCP and SMS
• Dispose of waste including domestic and food appropriately
• Observe patient confidentiality at all times.

Package Description

2 shift patterns available AM and PM:

Morning shifts are: 7.00am – 2. 40pm (7.40 hours)

• Monday to Thursday (28.40 hours)
• Saturday and Sunday (14.20 hours)

Afternoon shifts are: 3.00 – 7.40 (4.40 hours)

• Monday to Thursday (16.40 hours) 
• Thursday to Sunday (16.40 hours)
• Friday to Sunday (12.5 hours)

Saturday is time and half, Sunday is double time.
