What You’ll Do
Manage timely delivery of patient meals, ensuring orders are correct, delivered at the right temperature, and meet the required standard.
Ensure all food practices adhere to agreed standards (e.g., temperatures, cleaning rotas).
Lead, develop, and train the team to meet required standards.
Plan and monitor staff rotas based on patient numbers, adjusting as necessary.
Ensure staff comply with company policies and site-specific rules (Nuffield and Sodexo).
Manage staff uniforms, ensuring the ward team is presented to the required standard.
Visit patients daily to check their wellbeing and gather feedback on the service.
Attend required Nuffield and Sodexo meetings.
Maintain good communication with the ward team and complete team briefs as needed.
Ensure completion of ward paperwork (e.g., temperatures, supervisors’ checklists, handover books).
Oversee stock rotation and ensure food labelling standards are met.
Adhere to any reasonable requests from management.
Ensure special diets are catered for (coordinate with chefs).
Clear patient rooms, ensuring no trays, plates, or crockery are left behind.
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness on the ward, following cleaning rotas and addressing additional cleaning needs.
Run the ward kitchen to the required standard, ensuring duties are carried out and adhered to.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in a supervisory role, ideally within cleaning or facilities management.
- Physical ability to carry out manual aspects of the role.
- A strong commitment to health, safety, and hygiene.
- Professional integrity, reliability, and a positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
