Transport Operations Administrator

Job Introduction

As a Transport Administrator at Merville Barracks, Colchester you will be responsible for providing all activities associated in relation to Transport Services as part of the team, You're the one with the skills to ensure behind the scenes of facilities run like clockwork and ensure your managers feel supported. Join Sodexo and be part of something greater. What you’ll do: 

  • Support with the delivery of a cost-effective fleet transport service to the MOD (the customer)
  • Carry out Service & H&S Audits using Sodexo IT system
  • Effective co-operative working with the MOD customers
  • Input transport bookings on the transport database 
  • Produce reports using the IT systems and software available
  • Other duties may be requested depending on support needed at that specific time (such as month ending paperwork/compliance)

What you bring:  

  • Practical numerical, interpersonal and communication skills, must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication

  • 2 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or equivalent; or NVQ Business Administration

  • IT qualification and/or skills in word and excel

  • Capable typing and administration skills

  • Working knowledge of Health, Safety and Welfare in the workplace

  • Able to work on own initiative or within a team environment

  • Must be customer service focussed

  • Willing to learn and develop own skills

Package Description

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday 8am-4:30pm / Friday 8am-4pm
  • £11.44 per hour 
  • Free Car parking
