Transport Coordinator

Job Introduction

Manage and support all transport processes including the development, implementation and ongoing management of travel plans and their associated initiatives for GSK and Consumer Health sites; specifically, GSK House, Weybridge and Stevenage. 

 

Role Responsibility

  1. Together with the other Transport Coordinators, devise and implement initiatives for reducing dependence on car travel, including: 

  • Walking, jogging, cycling, public transport and car sharing. 

  • Reducing the need to travel in general. 

  • Running shuttle bus services to provide access to train stations and the like. 

  • Incentivising sustainable travel. 

  • Engaging with local authorities and public transport companies to develop and improve local routes for cycling, walking and bus services. 

  • Negotiating standard discounts with bicycle retailers for the purchase of bicycles for the purpose of work related travel. 

  1. Manage active travel lockers and walking and cycling databases. 

  1. Devise and periodically run relevant promotional activities including road shows and advertisement campaigns, utilising Right Turns travel planning messages for all sites. 

  1. Liaise with other parts of the business involved to share good practice and where possible promote consistency. This includes comms.  

  1. Constantly challenge all aspects of travel plans and their associated initiatives to ensure they remain relevant and portray the clients as a proactive organisation in seeking to minimise the impact of business travel on local communities and the environment generally. 

  1. Support the periodic review and update of travel plans as necessary, including the undertaking of regular surveys to monitor progress in relation to goals and targets and publicising results. 

  1. Maintain accurate information on all means by which any given site can be travelled to including by car, public transport, cycling and walking or jogging.  This would include ensuring that this information is reflected and regularly updated on the intranet sites. 

  1. Manage and coordinate the shuttle services.  

  1. Manage parking processes across West London: 

  • Process parking applications and updates.  

  • Parking administration and queries, including monitoring compliance with policies. 

  • Maintain car park databases. 

  1. Coordinate visitor booking system issues and updates.  

  1. Coordinate electric vehicle charging at all sites.  

  1. Coordinate occasional projects.  

  1. GroundSpan chauffeur operations cover 

  1. Maintain, update and create Transport intranet, Workplace and AppSpace as required.  

  1. Monitor and respond to queries in the Transport team mailboxes.  

The Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent customer service skills.  

  • Enthusiastic in performing the role.  

  • Excellent attention to detail.  

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills. 

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with a diverse range of both internal and external contacts. 

  • Proactive and sensible approach to issue resolution and related tasks. 

  • Travel Planning experience desirable. 

  • Ability to travel between sites. 

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 

  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical business and its IT systems – preferred but not essential.  

Package Description

Up to £31,000 Depending on Experience + Benefits
