Temporary Prison Escort

Job Introduction

As part of the security team you will be responsible for assisting in the safety and security of the establishment where your duties will include escorting visitors, building contractors, gate duties within the prison and outside areas. You will ensure the safety and security of the visitors, staff and prisoners within a Prison establishment, while persons from outside of the prison service are on site.

  • Health & Safety Procedures
  • Routine administrative work

The Ideal Candidate

  • No formal qualifications or previous experience is required for this role.

The nature of the escort role requires candidates to be security conscious and able to challenge potential compromises and risks, you will also need to be reliable and consistent, level headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills. Successful applicants will have a background in customer services or security and will be assessed based on the following competencies: Acting with integrity, respecting others, Building relationships and team working, communicating effectively, developing self and others.
Full training is provided by the establishment/ department. 

  • An awareness of security would be desirable
  • Good standard of education required, including Maths, English & IT
  • PC literate, an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft products is essential (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Experience of time management/prioritising

Package Description

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm shifts. 39 hours per week.

3-6 months, with a starting rate of £10.43 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.

These are temporary positions.
