Location: Kent Community Workshops (and other MTS/customer premises as required)
Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30 or 08:30–17:00)
Salary: £25,375 per year
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Technical Assistant to join our team, supporting the maintenance and repair of a wide range of biomedical devices across specified sites. You’ll work closely with your manager and Biomedical Engineers to ensure all service targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved, while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to build your technical skills within a supportive, team-focused environment, working under MTS’s Quality Management System (QMS).
Main Responsibilities
- Carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) on a wide range of medical devices (following training).
- Work in line with manufacturer specifications for all maintenance activities.
- Complete associated administrative tasks and maintain accurate records within the company’s management database.
- Support Biomedical Engineers in day-to-day operations and exceed KPI targets.
- Maintain safe working practices and adhere to all Health & Safety policies.
- Manage and maintain stock levels of spare parts.
Additional Duties
- Assist in scheduling planned and remedial workload.
- Help manage contract workload requirements.
- Maintain service documentation in line with OEM specifications.
- Escalate issues or resource requirements as needed.
- Liaise effectively with third-party suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure integrity of asset data and maintain tools/test equipment.
- Identify and support service improvement initiatives.
About You
You’ll have at least 1 years' experience in a biomedical engineering or similar technical field and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer service.
Essential requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of relevant technical experience (biomedical or related field).
- Strong organisational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proactive and customer-focused attitude.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
