Switchboard Operator

Our UK Healthcare segment have a fantastic opportunity for a Switchboard Operator to join our talented and hard working team based from Hereford County Hospital.

Reporting to the Switchboard Supervisor, you will be working as part of the Switchboard team on our Hereford Contract. In this role you will act as the first point of contact providing a telephony service for our internal and external Clients and customers. You will also provide administrative duties as required. Full training will be given to someone who wants to be part of this crucial team. If you have an excellent telephone manner with good general office experience and can keep calm under pressure, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Excellent communication skills are essential together with good keyboard skills and a willingness to learn!

Role Responsibility

  • Effective operation of the Switchboard and its associated systems.
  • Answer all calls politely and promptly.
  • To comply with operational policies and procedures.
  • Support other Sodexo staff in their duties.
  • Provide operational cover for other clerical staff.
  • Telephone and face to face liaison with internal staff and contractors;
  • Operate and update the paging and bleep systems;
  • Initiate internal procedures on activation of emergency call or alarm.
  • General admin office day to day duties.

  • Proven customer service experience
  • Excellent organisation skills and with the ability to work in an ever-changing environment
  • The ability to work and keep calm under pressure
  • Excellent communicator, eloquent
  • Competent keyboard and computer skills
  • Willingness and commitment to learn
  • Good general office experience

Package Description

£24,316.50pa  - £25,937.60pa + great benefits

Location: Hereford County Hospital, Hereford HR1

Permanent

Work Pattern – 5/7 shift pattern on a rota basis
