We are now seeking an Support Services Assistant Manager to join our team at Ferryfield House, 100 Pilton Drive, Edinburgh , EH5 2HF
What you’ll do:
Ensure all costs and expenditures remain within the budgeted levels agreed between the client and Sodexo.
Control all costs including labour, expenses, and cash purchases, as agreed with the line manager.
Plan and manage shift patterns, staff rotas, holiday scheduling, and sickness cover.
Comply with all Company and client policies related to:
Health and safety
Food safety
Safe working practices
Hygiene and cleanliness
Fire safety
COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health)
HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)
Maintain hazard awareness in the workplace; ensure all equipment is safe and functional, reporting any faults to the line manager.
Oversee staff training, team huddles, and absence monitoring.
Complete all internal daily, weekly, and monthly checks in line with client policies.
Attend the daily client meeting in the absence of the manager.
Prepare reports and participate in user meetings.
Assume the role of Building Manager during holidays.
Assist with recruitment, training, and management of staff, including:
Personal development
Reward and recognition
Appraisals
Health and safety
Communication of shared goals
Support the manager in administering payroll for establishment staff via UDC, and maintain personnel records in compliance with statutory regulations and Company policy.
Take full responsibility for the establishment in the manager’s absence.
Supervise staff in their duties and assist in organizing their hours and rotas.
Assist as needed in the preparation, production, and presentation of all meals and services in accordance with Sodexo’s standards and procedures.
What you bring:
Strong knowledge and experience in a similar role or function
Effective communication skills
Good work ethic and ability to work efficiently within tight timeframes
Forward-thinking and progressive mindset
Relevant craft skills and professional qualifications, including:
Food Safety Level 3
IOSHH or equivalent certification

Package Description
- 37.5 hours per week
- Mondays - Fridays. 8AM-4PM, however site operates 7AM-7PM 7 days per week therefore flexibility is required.
- £27500-28000 per annum
