Job Introduction 

We are looking to recruit a Strategic Business Case Manager to join our Project Management team, based in Belfast. This role is offered as a hybrid working position. 

Reporting to our Senior Project Manager, this role will be responsible for working within property services leading the development and delivery of business cases. 

The ideal candidate should have previous experience working in a similar environment and a degree or equivalent within building services, project management or similar.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, guidance and advice to project teams on the requirements and development of the business case process from inception to completion.
  • Support the Project Team to ensure the rigorous planning, development and drafting of multiple business cases, to tight deadlines including establishing work priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Leading the production, execution and quality assurance of all business cases to ensure delivery of the client’s programme of works.
  • In collaboration with internal colleagues provide oversight on business case development and approval timeframes to ensure compliance with RASCI matrix and ensure accurate records are held and reviewed.
  • Regularly review plan of work to ensure necessary development briefs and business cases are in place to facilitate seamless delivery of projects
    Provide support to internal teams in the development and quality assurance of development briefs.
  • Support OMT, CLT and the wider PPS business in the delivery of bid writing, report writing and business case writing and work to drive performance and best practice.
  • Build strong stakeholder advocacy both external and internal to Sodexo.
  • Highly regulated environment requiring exacting standards and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, accurate and timely delivery of business case submission to facilitate client approval, ensuring high quality submissions and this will be evidenced through the % signed off at first submission or low number of business cases returning for re-authority.
  • Completion of all contract obligations
  • Implementation of effective reporting.

The Ideal Candidate
 
  • Educated to degree level or have a professional qualification although demonstrable track record and experience will take precedence.
  • Significant experience, with a proven track record, in writing and delivering business cases/ bids.
  • Commercially aware of project-specific finances.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Department of Finance requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively witcustomers, clients and employees at all levels.
  • Demonstrable evidence of high levels of attention to detail in your previous roles.
  • A can-do attitude with a positive outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple workloads and shifting priorities.
  • Experience of working with Government contracts and Clients.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative within a team environment.
  • Team player and leader within own subject matter area.
  • Proactive and resilient with the ability to overcome and work through challenges.
  • Effective presentation and communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Desirable
  • Experience developing and compiling business cases in a construction environment.
  • Experience developing and writing commercial bid submissions.
  • PRINCE2 qualification.
  • Chartered membership of a professional industry recognised body.
  • Line management experience.
