Stores Keeper Operative

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a Stores Keeper Operative to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.
 

Role Responsibility

As a Stores keeper operative your duties will include:

  • To receive, check and store all deliveries ensuring adherence to company policies
  • To ensure stock rotation is adhered to, reporting any food issues to the management in a timely manner.
  • To organise/ separate out deliveries in the main loading area for distribution to other areas f the business. 
  • To correspond with suppliers when anomalies occur with deliveries and communicate these with management.
  • To assist the Executive Chef with placing food orders in accordance with the menu.
  • To undertake weekly stock takes and regular assessment of stock volumes necessary to deliver a smooth operation.
  • To oversee, organise and manage the Kitchen Porter team.
  • To undertake cleaning duties including manual pot washing and use of a commercial dishwasher.
  • To ensure all work areas and surfaces are clean and tidy as is practical at all times, especially at the end of the day/shift.
  • To dispose of waste from the catering areas and refectory, as per company procedure, to school designated collection points.
  • To complete any administration as requested including food temperatures, cleaning schedules, delivery temperatures, quality checks etc. in line with Sodexo’s Health and Safety regulations.
  • To ensure the kitchen is maintained in a clean, organized manner and all food safety and health and safety policies and procedures are followed.
  • Assist with the implementation of cleaning schedules to agreed standards within the food and disposable storage areas.
  • To promote a friendly working relationship with colleagues.
  • To attend meetings, training and courses relevant to the position.
  • To raise any issues to the Executive Chef or Catering Manager in a timely manner.
  • To report any incidents of accident, near miss, fire, loss, theft, damage, unfit food or any other irregularities and act as may be appropriate.
  • To report any complaint or compliment and act if at all possible.
  • To work at school events, as required, with occasional evening and weekend work.
  • To assist with the clearing and cleaning of function catering as requested.
  • To undertake occasional duties outside the normal routine but within the scope of the position and the department's activities. 
  • To assist in other local units as may be necessary in an emergency.

Package Description

We have a great opportunity for a Store Keeper to come join our small kitchen brigade at Reading Blue Coat School. 

 

The position is 5 days 40 hours a week on a 52 week contract with opportunities for overtime, assisting with hospitality events and weekend work.
