Special Projects Manager

Job Introduction

As a Special Projects Manager with Sodexo at Manchester University Hospital you’ll be supporting the collaborative Projects, Variations & Life Cycle teams and will be responsible for the delivery of Special Projects within the PFI Consortium and MUFT Major Trauma Hospital Environment. 

You’ll establish and maintain excellent customer relationships and develop confidence in our systems and processes whilst ensuring patient safety and compliance with Healthcare Standards is paramount.

Working to KPI’s and SLA’s you’ll be a real problem solver that thinks on their feet and manages tasks accordingly. You’ll be accustomed to working in a technical, Hard FM team and familiar with Microsoft Office/Power BI & Asset Management software systems. 

This is a great opportunity for an HTM/HBN professional who can clearly apply the requirements of all HTMs & HBNs into operational practice looking for the potential for future development into Senior Management.

Role Responsibility

What You’ll Do

  • Address the priority of Special Projects in conjunction with PFI Partners and MUFT Estates & Facilities, Property & Estates Teams.
  • Act as Sodexo’s key stakeholder in all Special Projects and Project Board functions
  • Develop a series of “call off” supply chain/sub-contractor retention agreement
  • Safe systems of works procedures, inclusive of but not limited to;
    • Acceptance and review of project specific tasks.
    • Permit to work procedures
    • Assessment of sub-contractors’ capability statements.
    • Assessment of sub-contractor’s employee qualifications and certifications.
  • Review of Technical Designs with advice on compliance, standards & codes, and potential risk to the Estates.
  • Witnessing of Test, Commissioning and Validation of projects installations.
  • Operational handover on successful practical completion (inclusive of Test & Commission acceptances), and migration of assets into the Sodexo CMMS and BIM Spatial Model.
  • Performance measurement of the Sub Contractors service delivery.
  • Servicing Permit to Work requests.
  • Collate recharge information and make available to appropriate stakeholders
  • Closing the relevant documentation with stakeholders
  • Providing a high level of customer service to external, internal, onsite, and offsite parties
  • Translating data into dashboards and trackers
  • Assuring the Responsible and Authorised Persons appointments of the role are maintained.
  • Production of new Special Projects Standard & Local Operating Procedures

The Ideal Candidate

What You Bring

  • You’ll be qualified in a Mechanical and/or Electrical discipline with experience of working within Major Trauma and Acute Hospital environment
  • Previous and or/current Authorised Persons HTM appointments
  • Be able to demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Confident when dealing with challenging stakeholders
  • Desirable to have additional specialist knowledge relevant to the health care environment.
