Space Planning Lead
Job Introduction
Using your knowledge and expertise our Space Planning Lead will direct the Space Management Team in the development of solutions to our client’s strategic workplace space targets.
You will have the co-ordinating the space strategies for 58 of our client’s offices over 18 counties. You will be our client’s lead point of contact and keep them up to date on how their site space is used to its full efficient capacity in terms of real estate strategies and new ways of using space.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate and lead ongoing Global Space Management endeavours and Platform communities driven to expand and improve the performance of this function and collaborate with other stakeholders of Space Management Data to notify them of changes or incorporate other relevant information.
- Drive data science to make recommendations that result in positive improvements in Microsoft’s Workplace Effectiveness and overall Workplace Experience
- Development of meaningful concepts, space plans, budgets and briefs that align with business drivers and support the various workplace styles.
- Work effectively with front line, management, client, partner, and vendor stakeholders to achieve the required outcomes.
- Analyse quantitative and qualitative data from research such as surveys and utilization studies.
- Synthesize research from internal and external sources into a workplace brief and report accordingly.
- Determine spatial requirement, current trends, and development of space programme and budget.
- Workplace guidelines development, planning and design experience / knowledge base.
- Application of knowledge of building regulations and occupational standards.
- Use of databases to produce management information and statistics.
- Ability to analyse business issues, category trends on presentation opportunities.
- Assist in design and construction, providing guidance on office refresh and expansions.
- Plan project requirements by developing construction drawings and details.
- Create new floor and space plans and communicate this through to the related client platforms and internal supply chains.
- Ensure adjacencies across each department by using associated software and documentation, work with assigned business leads to develop approved floor layouts and department flow.
- Recommended enhancements to Microsoft Design Standards & Guidelines to ensure they remain.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You will already have held a similar position covering Space Management, Office Moves and Data Intelligence. You will have exceptional knowledge of space planning, office occupancy, estate strategy performance and space utilisation. You will also be a confident project manager, having managed and delivered space planning and change projects.
You will also have:
- Exacting standards of numeracy and written communication
- Stakeholder management and communication skills
- Flexibility-as the role covers European time zones and has a US based client, flexibility in occasional changes to working hours is required.
Remuneration
Salary £48,000 to £52,000 plus a performance related bonus and access to a suite of excellent benefits
