Senior Operations Manager

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit an excellent Senior Operations Manager to join a key client of ours in our corporate services segment. The location will be based across multiple sites in Cambridge and one in London. This is a great opportunity to lead and Manage the Operations Managers and Operational teams. You will be required to manage and control the full IFM services for the client, to the agreed specification, performance, qualitative and financial targets. You will be responsible for a well-established, competent team, who you will oversee, carrying out daily huddles and weekly team meetings, building and maintaining excellent relationships with both the client and Sodexo employees. We need an excellent relationship builder who will grow strong relationships with our clients to ensure a profitable long-term partnership. You will simultaneously manage the team and provide them with guidance on operational issues to ensure the business objectives are met.

Role Responsibility

  • Lead in the delivery of profitable growth through new and existing client contracts and relationships. 
  • Implement business strategy in line with current and emerging client needs
  • Own, define, maintain and manage sector and account development plans
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement of people, systems, processes
  • Lead, develop, manage and encourage direct reports
  • Maximise the profitability of the contracts within area of responsibility and deliver the required financial and service level results
  • Take overall responsibility for ensuring that contracts and services are operated within their contractual terms
  • Develop the profitability of the Food P&L by driving sales and controlling costs
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the client strategy and ensure own business area plan is in line with these objectives
  • Set and agree overall annual budgets with finance and develop unit business plans
  • Analyse and review all financial measures and tools to ensure positive financial performance
  • Seek new ways to drive revenue and maximise sales by implementing innovative ideas across all operational departments
  • Take overall accountability for delivering services to the agreed specification and service level agreements/standards required by the contracts within your region
  • Continually seek ways to maximise profitability and enhance service quality by driving excellence and innovations in service delivery
  • Ensure all business units comply with all business processes and systems and that payroll is administered correctly for establishment staff and casual workers
  • Risk and Compliance, analysis of indicators and coaching to embed good practice
  • Ensure that the appropriate training and development plans are in place for all employees within the business
  • Ensure the unit complies with appropriate controls and meets all other audit standards 
  • Recruit, induct, motivate, manage, train and develop all employees following Sodexo HR policy and guidelines 

 

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Office
  • HNC/BIFM qualification or solid senior management experience
  • Proven experience in managing P&L accounts
  • Proven operational knowledge, skills and experience in managing multi-site/multi service operations
  • Management of large and diverse teams
  • Manage multiple workloads and shifting priorities
  • Ability to interpret and utilise complex and varied financial and commercial information
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients and employees at all levels
  • Achieve set, standards and operate to performance criteria; for example health and safety, hygiene
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative within a team environment 

 

Desirable

  • IOSH managing safely qualification
  • CIEH Level 3 qualification

 

 

Package Description

£48,000pa - £56,000pa + excellent bonus and benefits

Location: Cambridge

Permanent

Work Pattern – 40 hrs pw Monday to Friday
