We are recruiting for a Senior Chef De Partie to join our Sodexo team at Headingley Stadium - home to Leeds Rhinos and Yorkshire County Cricket Club as well as playing host venue to international rugby and cricket fixtures and major events.

Role Responsibility

  • Provide support to the Exec Head Chef and Development Chef to ensure that all costs and expenditure are within confines of the agreed budget, including food, casual labour, cleaning, disposables, and any other kitchen related costs
  • Assist the Exec Head Chef and Development Chef to write menus
  • Continuously work to develop and improve the food offering at Headingley Stadium, ensuring that our offer remains on trend and relevant within the wider hospitality sector
  • To work with the Exec Head Chef and Development Chef to ensure that the Sodexo purchasing policies and procedures are managed and upheld by the kitchen operations team, to include the strict use of nominated suppliers only, unless otherwise approved by the Exec Head Chef or Account Manager
  • Be accountable for implementing and complying with all Sodexo and statutory Health and Safety and Food Hygiene requirements, ensuring accountability for good housekeeping, stock management and rotation, COSHH, cleanliness and tidiness
  • Assist with the recruitment, training and development of other employees, ensuring the continual succession planning of the kitchen operations team, in line Sodexo HR policies and procedures

The Ideal Candidate

What we are looking for:

  • Level 2 Professional Cookery (or equivalent)
  • Experience of working in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level in a company dealing in high food volumes, i.e., stadium venue or similar
  • Good numerical and communication skills, must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication
  • Management knowledge of health & safety, food safety, and allergens
  • Able to demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards
  • Analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities, implement innovative solutions, and work on own initiative within a team environment

Desirable

  • Level 3 (or equivalent)
  • Pastry specialist experience
  • IOSH qualification or equivalent
  • Food Safety Level 3
  • Proven experience of managing client relationships
  • Proven track record of leading, managing and developing a team
