Security and Guest Services Manager
Job Introduction
Due to an exciting internal move, a great opportunity has become available for an experienced Security and Guest Services Manager to join our team on a FMCG Client’s site in York.
You would have a background in a corporate environment managing security and reception staff, excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills as well as great attention to detail and focus on Health & Safety.

Role Responsibility
- To be responsible for the efficient and effective day to day running of the security operation.
- To manage and oversee all the Security Operation and associated operations and functions
- To manage onsite reception/switchboard functions
- To support the Operations Manager to lead the operational teams to deliver service excellence as per the agreed Service Level Agreement between Sodexo and the Client.
- To grow services to meet client and commercial expectations whilst maintaining strict budgetary control in line with Client and Sodexo expectations
- To recruit, train and develop team, ensuring the continual succession planning of the security and reception operations team
- In line Sodexo HR policies and procedures. To ensure strict time management ensuring a good work life balance of the security, reception and operations team, through effective management of time and holidays. To include holding 1-2-1 meetings and team meetings.
- To support, implement and comply with all Sodexo and statutory Health and Safety and Food Hygiene requirements.
- To work closely with the all onsite teams to ensure seamless interface between departments. Through close collaboration, work to continuously improve the aesthetics and service standards ensuring that we exceed our client’s expectations.
- To support and oversee Front of House operations
- To support the wider Sodexo business both on site and off site as and when required.
- To proactively support all departments and staff within the onsite team and to carry out other reasonable tasks as directed by management.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential
- Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level
- Good interpersonal skills, must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication with customers, clients and team members
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Safety
- Able to work on own initiative and within a team environment
- Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards
- Analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions
- IT skills illiterate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
- SIA Licence
- Full current driving license
- First Aid at Work or willing to complete
- Proven knowledge of the UK Security Industry and SIA requirements
Desirable
- Demonstrative customer focus and service skills
- Experience working in a standards /compliance environment
- Hospitality, restaurant and fine dining experience
- SIA CCTV licence
