Role Responsibility

As a Security Team Leader you will be responsible for:

 

  • Leading a team of security personnel
  • Use of IT systems for access control, site patrolling, emergency response, cash collection, report generating, incident investigation and all other standard security duties 

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate for this role will have:

 

  • A SIA Licence
  • Solid experience in a similar environment
  • Excellent communication skills and be computer literate
  • The ability to work on your own initiative coordinating the shift, being thorough and accurate in all documentation

Job Specification

 

Main Purpose of post

 

To be responsible to the Assignments Manager for :-

 

  • The organisation, deployment and supervision of all directly employed staff and Area Relief Officers/Agency Staff.
  • Overseeing the operation of a 24-hour emergency callout or quick response unit where required.
  • The motivation, management and performance review of all assigned staff.

 

Summary of responsibilities and personal duties

 

  1. To organise, deploy and supervise all allocated resources in such a way as to secure optimal performance and achievement of operational and when required, financial targets.
  2. To supervise and motivate all assigned staff, and to be responsible for ensuring that training and personal development are given the appropriate priority and resources.
  3. To represent the Assignment Security Manager as required within the post holder’s sphere of responsibility.
  4. To supervise, where appropriate, the security operations connected with the evacuation of buildings or similar events.
  5. To carry out regular checks on Fire, safety, security and other emergency procedures and to report the result of such checks to the Security Manager.
  6. To respond to and attend as necessary any incidents involving security or safety of premises or staff, and to initiate appropriate actions.
  7. To ensure that, in the event of a major incident the emergency services are informed immediately where necessary, that relevant management representatives are contacted immediately and other appropriate action is taken in line with assignment instructions.
  8. To provide advice and guidance on security matters and to carry out all necessary administrative tasks ancillary to the above.
  9. To carry out any other relevant duties as directed by the Security Manager.
  10. To undertake the above duties in such a way as to protect and enhance the reputation and public profile of Sodexo/Unilever/Britvic.

 

 

Special Skills and Attributes in Post

 

  • Capable of developing systems and processes to ensure that work is completed to the relevant standards, and for setting and monitoring targets for individuals and team.
  • Good leadership qualities, with the ability to review and evaluate the work of a team and individuals within it, to Motivate staff and encourage participation.
  • Good written & oral communication skills
  • Genuine customer faced orientation with the ability to respond appropriately to the needs of all customers and possessing the tact and sensitively deal effectively with difficult issues and situations.
  • A bias for action and with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • To provide “On the Job” training for all new security officers joining the team.
  • Able to demonstrate significant leadership qualities, reliability and be of an exemplary standard.
  • To assist the Security Manager with audits and preparation of audits.
  • To fully comply with and to ensure officers have a full understanding of the Assignment Instructions and Customer supplied information.
  • To be fully competent in the use and execution of major incident plans for Unilever UK Foods and Britvic soft Drinks Norwich.
  • Able to develop and maintain an ethos of teamwork, ensuring that there is mutual support within the team and respect for each others skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence Mandatory

 

Ideally, the candidate should hold a Current SIA Licence, First Aid at Work Certificate, AED & Medical Gases qualifications.

 

PC Skills, Microsoft Office suite knowledge at an intermediate level are essential.
