Role Responsibility
Main Responsibilities
As a Security Officer you could be responsible for:
- Controlling access to and from a Manufacturing and storage site through checking identities of persons and vehicles
- Covering for Maternity, holidays and other short notice absence
- Ad-hoc support for our security operations
- Ensuring buildings, valuables or people are safe and secure
- Patrolling, securing and monitoring premises, sometimes with the aid of closed circuit television (CCTV)
- Health and Safety and Evacuation procedures
The Ideal Candidate
Essential
- A valid and current SIA Licence for Manned Guarding or Door Supervision
- Knowledge of security techniques
- Computer and keyboard skills ,Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbally including use of a 2 way radio.
- Experience working in a customer focused role within a Corporate environment
- Proactive attitude with the ability to work as team player and be accountable for their own actions
- Able to work at very short notice.
- Physically fit to work a 12 hour shift including days and nights which will require regular vehicle checks and site patrols throughout the shift.
- Able to get to work by their own means for night and weekend shifts on occasions regardless of public transport limitations.
Desirable
- Previous experience working in a 24hr 7 day a week Gatehouse environment.
- CCTV operation and data protection knowledge
- Experienced security officer
- Fire Marshall knowledge
- Knowledge of site and local emergency procedures and escalation processes
Package Description
An opportunity exists at the Coca Cola site in Wakefield for an experienced Security Officer to provide lorry marshalling and security checks to all incoming vehicles. Good communication skills are required as the sucessful applicant will be dealing with Gatehouse staff as well as lorry drivers.
The role will initially be on a casual basis but will move to permanent hours within 2/3 weeks. These hours will be on day shifts across 7 days per week.
