Join Sodexo as a Night Security Officer in Reading and take on a key role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients and their premises during overnight hours. As the primary on-site presence throughout the night, you will maintain vigilant patrols, respond promptly to incidents, monitor security systems, and provide calm, professional support whenever needed. If you’re dependable, alert, and committed to delivering excellent service even when the world is asleep, this is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact with a global leader in facilities management.

What you'll do: 

  • Control site access, including locking/unlocking facilities, managing visitors, and verifying deliveries and trailer security.
  • Monitor CCTV, fire alarms, BMS systems, and respond promptly to any incidents or suspicious activity.
  • Conduct regular campus patrols and report any faults, risks, or security concerns through the correct systems.
  • Handle emergencies by taking emergency calls, providing First Aid when required, and coordinating with emergency services.
  • Perform essential support duties such as reception tasks, answering calls, assisting with site communications, and maintaining accurate security logs.

What you'll bring: 

  • Strong command of written and spoken English.
  • Valid SIA licence.
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both face-to-face and through email, Tannoy, and telephone.
