Security Officer

  • 52 hours per week 
  • Shift pattern/ hours Mon-Thu (nights 18.00-07.00)
  • £13.70 per hour 
  • Access you own vehicle/hold a valid driver's licence is essential for this role due to rural location

JobIntroduction:

Are you looking for a role where no two days are thesame? As a Security Officer at HMPPS Newbold, Rugby, CV23 OTH , you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the safety andsecurity of both the building and the people inside. Your presence willcontribute to a safer environment and positively impact the lives of those youencounter.


What You’ll Do:

  • Welcome and assist staff, visitors, and contractors while ensuring strict adherence to security protocols.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all building users.
  • Monitor CCTV, Access Control, and other security systems to detect and prevent security threats.
  • Act as the first line of response to security incidents, system activations, and fault reports.
  • Handle calls, relay messages, and provide clear guidance to staff and visitors.
  • Conduct regular security patrols to ensure ongoing safety and compliance.

What You Bring:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with staff, visitors, and local authorities.
  • Must be 18 or older and hold a valid SIA License.
  • Excellent communication and situational awareness.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of security procedures and emergency response protocols.
  • Due to the nature of the site, a full DBS clearance is required.
