Security Officer / Traffic Management

Job Introduction

This site is a semi-permenant COVID-19 Drive-through Testing Centre overseen by the NHS duing the Coronavirus Pandemic. Secuirty on this site will be responsible for assisting those attending the site to receive a test. From manning the entry gate and checking that entry requirements have been met, to providing live instructions to paitents administering the tests.

Officers will be first aid trained, a calm and reassuring presence and above all else, a professional and authorative figure to all of those at site. As infection control is an extremely important factor on this site, Security will be reminding all of those not complying with the social distancing and PPE rules to adhere going forward. You will need to be a strong communicator with good radio discipline.

You will be joining a strong team that prides itself on good communication and a willingness to help others. Colleuge or visitor,  you will be responsible to enusiring that everybody who visits this site does so safely. The number of tests aministered on this site is expected to continuously grow and for this reason, you will be expected to perform well under pressure in a busy enviorment for the duration of of your shift. 

Full training and PPE will be provided. This is a 6 month contract initially with the potential for extensions depending on government announcement.

Role Responsibility

  • To be professional, pleasant, friendly, courteous and helpful at all times whilst carrying out duties to the highest standard.
  • To ensure exemplary standards in personal grooming, adhering to uniform standards at all times.
  • To deal efficiently and effectively with emergencies, including fire and bomb scares ensuring all customers are kept fully informed at all times.
  • Provide assistance to third party contractors and visitors to site ensuring site policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • To ensure all site documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • To ensure effective hand over’s with team, making sure all key messages are passed on to following shift.
  • To liaise closely with statutory authorities dealing with incidents and to provision of information.
  •  Maintain continuous monitoring of site radio systems adhering to radio system procedure at all times.
  • Diligent monitoring and completion of site records/reference material including H&S documents, Assignment Instructions, Incident Forms and Site Occurrence Book.
  • To provide regular liaison and timely feedback to site management team on all aspects of security operations and service delivery, implementing effective solutions and corrective actions to enhance the service.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties required to meet the needs of the business.
  • Ensure a timely response to any security concerns or events.
  • To develop excellent working relationships with on site customers.
  • To learn all other frontline roles on site to enable additional services to be covered where need arises.
  • To ensure all visitors to the executive lounge are met and welcomed accordingly.
  • To engage fully in the ‘one team’ ethos.
  • To be an initial contact for all visitors entering the floors and to provide an exemplary welcome at all times.
  • To deal with customer complaints and queries, seeking a resolve as soon as possible.
  • To escalate any concerns or complaints as deemed appropriate.
  • To liaise with Technical Services team regarding out of hours contractors.
  • To liaise with the Sodexo Control Room where required.
  • Support the Reception and Business Support teams in their day-to-day duties if required
  • To provide security services to site ensuring all statutory compliances are met and adhered to.
  • To ensure professional service is delivered to client.
  • To ensure operation of security role on site adheres to all mandatory and client requirements.
  • To effectively manage all rota requirements and cover requests where necessary.
  • To address any and all security concerns on site in line with client and company expectations and in accordance with training and written assignment instructions.
  • To ensure all company HR procedures are followed and briefed to team effectively.
  • To ensure all mandatory H&S requirements of Sodexo and Client are adhered to at all times.
  • To help the site remain operational during weather events with tasks such as snow clearance and gritting.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • SIA Frontline Guarding License
  • PC Literate with an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft products.
  • Experience of time management.

Desirable

  • Professional or further qualification in Security Operations.
