Security Officer HGV Gate

The Security Officers (SO) is accountable to the Security Supervisor (SS) or the Assitant General Services manager (AGSM) for the support, management and delivery of security within the service offerring. This will include compliance, statutory, contractual and company regulations and processes.

The SO main role is to operate the HGV security entrance ensuring where necessary the correct weighing of goods. The role also includes main security reception duties.  

Role Responsibility

  • Man the HGV security entrance to site.
  • Ensuring goods are weighed correctly on weighbridge and complete all necessary documentation.
  • Opening & closing of site.
  • Work effectively with site security team to ensure the smooth running of the operation.
  • To deal efficiently and effectively with emergencies including fire and bomb scares ensuring the customers are always kept fully informed.
  • Provide assistance to third party contractors / visitors ensuring all site procedures / policies are adhered too.
  • To liaise closely with statutory authorities, dealing with incidents and the provision of information.
  • Diligent management and maintenance of site records / reference materials including Health & Safety records, Incident Forms and the site occurrence book
  • To provide regular liaison and timely feedback to the management team on all aspects of service delivery, implementing effective solutions and corrective action to enhance the service.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business
  • Ensure a timely response to all security issues and events. 
  • To develop excellent working relationships with our on-site customers

The Ideal Candidate

Essential:

PSA Licence

Transport needed as shifts fall outside of public transport hours.

Desirable:

  • Weighbridge experience
