Security Manager

Job Introduction

We are looking for a Security Manager to come on board and work across three sites for the University of Greenwich. You will be responsible for the efficient and effective day to day running of the security operation and managing a team of around 70, provide a safe and secure environment in support of excellent people care and leaving people with a good impression of the security service whilst leading the onsite team in delivering excellent people care, adhering to H&S standards, building compliance and provide a positive experience for all staff, students and visitors to the site.

You should have a proven track record in security operations management, experience managing a unionised workforce and excellent leadership skills in addition to an SIA Frontline licence.

We offer a salary up to £37,000 per annum, a bonus and Sodexo employee benefits. Due to 24/7 security operation on site - some flexibility in terms of working hours will be expected.

 

Role Responsibility

  • To lead the review, development and implementation of the security management procedures and assist in the annual review of strategies.
  • Ensure security information procedures are in alignment with industry policy and best practices (SIA)
  • To be the initial management contact on operational security matters, ensuring a consistent quality service delivery and prompt responses to all incidents.
  • Provide leadership on all Security practices and guidance as the subject matter expert for the contract.
  • To establish and effectively lead highly capable on-site Security teams who will deliver against the strategic objectives for the contract.
  • Co-ordinate / manage all incident investigations ensuring identification of root cause failings and lessons learnt to prevent re-occurrence.
  • To maintain a constant operational capability to manage any crisis / incidents at the site or within London.
  • To implement and maintain business improvement and process improvement into all areas of Security activities
  • Monitor the quality and compliance of the site penetration audits, record the results and support the sites with any improvements required.
  • Ensure the necessary internal security audits are undertaken and provide a detailed action plan and manage all non-compliance.
  • Understand client requirements and provide security solutions to meet and exceed needs and contribute to achieving customer objectives.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven track record in security management role
  • Experience in managing a unionised workforce
  • Good health and safety knowledge and experience. IOSH membership desirable.
  • Proven background in multi skilled Security disciplines
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to coach and motivate a team
  • SIA Frontline license
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Strong organisational and planning skills and can prioritise and manage their time effectively
  • Experience of designing and delivering targets to achieve quality standards, customer satisfaction and profit margins
  • Experience of customer service and customer relationship management
  • BIFM & NEBOSH qualifications desirable
